Experienced Hotel Accountant

About the role

The Carlson Hotel, a four‑star property in Ikoyi, Lagos, is seeking an experienced accountant to join its finance team. The role is full‑time and based on‑site, focusing on the hotel’s financial operations and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and present monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, profit and loss accounts and balance sheets.
• Conduct financial analysis to assess profitability and provide recommendations.
• Assist in preparing the annual budget and business plans, including projected room revenue.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, handle cash procedures and reconcile bank statements.
• Administer payroll, ensure compliance with tax legislation and prepare tax returns.
• Conduct internal audits on financial transactions and ensure compliance with laws, regulations and accounting standards.
• Monitor cash flow, chase late payments and report bad debts.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an accountant, preferably within the hotel or hospitality sector.
• Ability to work full‑time on‑site in Ikoyi, Lagos.
