Experienced Audit Staff (2 Openings)

About the role

Nexia Nigeria, a multi-discipline professional advisory firm, is recruiting two experienced audit staff members for its Abuja (FCT) and Lagos offices. The role suits candidates with relevant experience in external auditing, financial reporting and internal control assessments, who can carry out audit assignments effectively while upholding professional standards and delivering quality client service.

Key responsibilities

• Execute audit engagements in line with applicable auditing standards, professional guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Review financial statements for compliance with IFRS and relevant statutory requirements.
• Evaluate internal controls, identify risks and recommend improvements.
• Prepare and review audit working papers, audit reports and management letters.
• Ensure compliance with Nigerian laws and regulations, including CAMA 2020 and FRCN requirements.
• Collaborate with audit teams and maintain client relationships to deliver engagements on time.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience in external auditing, preferably in a professional accounting firm.
• ACCA, ACA or an equivalent professional qualification is an added advantage.
• Ability to work effectively in a team.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of IFRS, International Standards on Auditing (ISAs) and Nigerian regulatory requirements.
• Strong analytical, communication and report-writing skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and relevant audit or accounting software.
