Finance Manager / Accountant – Abuja

About the role

A recruitment agency is hiring on behalf of a client in the facility and property management sector for a Finance Manager / Accountant based in Abuja. The role oversees all financial and accounting activities, ensures financial integrity and regulatory compliance, and acts as a key financial partner to the leadership team, reporting directly to the CEO.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate accounting records and prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports, including timely financial closing and performance monitoring
• Develop and manage annual budgets and forecasts, track budget performance and support strategic planning with financial modelling
• Monitor cash flow, optimise working capital and oversee banking operations and relationships with financial institutions
• Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations, coordinate external audits and implement internal controls
• Provide financial insights, identify cost savings and support investment decisions and financial structuring
• Act as the primary finance contact for external stakeholders and work with internal teams, vendors and auditors

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field; Master's or professional certification is a plus
• 5-8 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting roles
• Mandatory experience in insurance, brokerage or financial services
• Fluent English, written and spoken
• Leadership experience not required but leadership potential is highly valued

Required skills

• Strong technical accounting and financial reporting expertise
• Proficiency in Excel and financial analysis tools
• Understanding of financial regulations and compliance frameworks
• Analytical thinking, attention to detail and ability to handle multiple priorities
• Knowledge of investment management is an added advantage
