About the role

Hilton Garden Inn is hiring an Executive Chef / Chief Chef in Enugu, Nigeria. The chef prepares Nigerian, continental and international dishes, develops menus and manages the kitchen and its food outlets.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare outstanding Nigerian, continental and international dishes, especially Igbo and South-South delicacies.
• Develop attractive menus, signature dishes and high food presentation standards.
• Supervise, train and manage kitchen staff, ensuring discipline and efficiency.
• Maintain consistent food quality, taste, portion sizes and timely service.
• Control food costs, stock, purchasing, wastage and kitchen profitability.
• Enforce kitchen hygiene, food safety and cleanliness.
• Manage restaurant, room service, poolside dining and event catering.
• Improve customer satisfaction and increase food sales.

Required profile

• Minimum 5-8 years of professional culinary experience, including senior kitchen leadership.
• Proven experience in kitchen management, food costing and menu development.
• Culinary qualifications are an advantage; practical competence is essential.

Required skills

• Exceptional practical cooking skills in Nigerian and continental cuisine.
• Strong leadership, creativity, discipline and integrity.

Selection process includes a practical cooking test, interview and reference checks. The location is Nsukka Road, Orba, Enugu State, and the stated remuneration is NGN 200,000 - 300,000 per month.
