Hotel Operations Manager (Resident Manager)

About the role

A hotel is looking for an experienced, service-oriented Hotel Operations Manager to oversee daily operations, coordinate several departments and deliver exceptional guest experiences. The role suits someone who understands luxury hospitality standards, operational management and the competitive market in Lagos.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate most operational departments so that guest experiences are excellent, operations run efficiently and brand standards are met.
• Work closely with the operations manager and executive director, and coordinate Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Maintenance, Security and Guest Services.
• Keep walkways, rooms and the guest arrival lounge clean, working with the Head of Housekeeping.
• Monitor daily occupancy, VIP arrivals, group movements and special events, and track guest experience and service quality.
• Watch the taste, quality and speed of food service, and measure SOPs and KPIs for each department.
• Control operational costs, maintain facilities and enforce health, safety, hygiene and security procedures, including vendor and supplier compliance.
• Handle guest complaints and service recovery, monitor feedback and reviews, and welcome VIPs when appropriate.
• Ensure compliance with hospitality regulations and monitor maintenance, fire safety and emergency preparedness.

Required profile

• At least 2 years of experience in a 4- or 5-star hotel, strictly in Lagos or Abuja brand locations.
• BSc or HND in a related field.
• Strong understanding of daily hotel operations across Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Maintenance, Security and Guest Services.
