Embedded Systems Engineer

About the role

Cornerstone Prosthetics and Orthotics Ltd is looking for an Embedded Systems Engineer to develop firmware for its smart medical devices. You will work on ESP32‑S3 based hardware, ensuring reliable Bluetooth Low Energy communication with our web platform and integrating various sensors for clinical prototypes.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain firmware for ESP32‑S3 and related microcontrollers.
• Implement and harden BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) communication, including GATT specifications.
• Create sensor data pipelines and integrate IMUs, force and temperature sensors via I²C, SPI, and ADC.
• Collaborate with software engineers on Web Bluetooth interfaces and data storage architecture.
• Support hardware design, PCB specifications, and component selection for in‑house devices.
• Test and validate embedded systems under clinical prototype conditions and document releases.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on embedded/firmware development experience.
• Strong C/C++ programming skills for microcontrollers.
• Practical experience with the ESP32 family (ESP‑IDF and/or Arduino core).
• Working knowledge of BLE/GATT communication protocols.
• Experience integrating sensors over I²C, SPI, and ADC.
• Comfort with bench work: soldering, prototyping, and debugging using logic analyzers, multimeters, and oscilloscopes.
• Proficiency with Git version control.
