Embedded Systems Engineer – Firmware & Hardware Development

About the role

We are seeking an Embedded Systems Engineer to design and develop embedded hardware and firmware from concept through production. The role involves close collaboration with mechanical, software and manufacturing teams to bring innovative products to market.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop embedded systems, including schematic capture and PCB layout.
• Write, maintain and optimise firmware in C/C++ for ARM Cortex‑M microcontrollers (e.g., STM32).
• Implement and debug communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I²C, CAN, USB, RS‑485, Ethernet, BLE, Wi‑Fi, LoRa or Cellular.
• Perform board‑level bring‑up, testing and validation using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and debuggers.
• Prepare technical documentation, schematics and test procedures, and support prototype development and product certification.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong proficiency in Embedded C/C++ and experience with ARM Cortex‑M platforms (STM32 preferred).
• Solid understanding of digital electronics, hardware design and ability to read schematics and datasheets.
• Proficiency with version‑control systems such as Git.

Required skills

• Embedded C/C++ development.
• ARM Cortex‑M microcontrollers (STM32, ESP32, NXP, Nordic, Microchip).
• Communication protocols: UART, SPI, I²C, CAN, USB, RS‑485, Ethernet, BLE, Wi‑Fi, LoRa.
• RTOS experience (FreeRTOS, Zephyr).
• PCB design tools: Altium Designer, KiCad, Eagle.
• Scripting with Python.
• Debugging tools: Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer, JTAG/SWD.
• Version control with Git.
