Electrical Technician

About the role

The Electrical Technician will install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment in industrial environments across several Nigerian states. The role involves preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and ensuring compliance with electrical codes and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment in industrial settings.
• Perform preventative maintenance to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Troubleshoot electrical problems and diagnose issues.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and diagrams.
• Install and maintain electrical control systems for machinery.
• Collaborate with engineers, mechanics, and other technicians.
• Provide training and guidance to apprentices and junior electricians.
• Maintain accurate records and inventory of electrical supplies.

Required profile

• Minimum Trade Test Certificate or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience with electrical systems in industrial settings.
• Completion of an apprenticeship program or equivalent training.
• Licensing and certification as an electrician.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Experience with electrical wiring, control systems, and PLC programming (a plus).
• Knowledge of safety procedures and electrical regulations.
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools safely.
