NYSC Procurement Officer

About the role

We are seeking a proactive and detail‑oriented NYSC corps member to support and coordinate day‑to‑day procurement operations for a furniture manufacturing company.

Key responsibilities

• Source and evaluate suppliers of furniture materials, fittings, tools, equipment, and other operational supplies.
• Obtain and compare quotations to ensure competitive pricing, quality, and value for money.
• Process purchase requests and prepare purchase orders for approval.
• Follow up on approved orders and coordinate timely delivery of materials.
• Monitor material requirements and work with Production and Stores teams to prevent shortages.
• Verify deliveries against purchase orders and report discrepancies or damaged items.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier databases, and order trackers.
• Track pending orders and procurement expenses and prepare periodic reports.
• Build and maintain effective supplier relationships.
• Ensure all procurement activities comply with company procedures and approval processes.

Required profile

• Degree or HND in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Must be an NYSC corps member seeking or undergoing placement.
• Good negotiation, numerical, organisational, and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail, integrity, and the ability to work independently.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
