Electrical Engineer

About the role

A leading mechanical and electrical contractor in the construction industry, recruited through eRecruiter, is looking for an electrical engineer to join its team in Lagos. The role covers design support, drawings, documentation and site coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in designing electrical installations in residential, commercial and industrial buildings
• Prepare workshop drawings for ongoing projects and as-built drawings for completed ones
• Prepare distribution board schedules and load calculations, and preliminary material quantification
• Prelimarily prepare operation and maintenance manuals for completed projects
• Follow health and safety procedures, wear PPE, report defects and hazards, and inform supervisors and HSE representatives of injuries, incidents and near misses
• Know emergency and evacuation procedures and the location of emergency equipment

Required profile

• B.Eng in Electrical Engineering or a related field
• Minimum of 2 years of working experience
• Good teamwork, communication and listening skills; able to coordinate site work and work under pressure

Required skills

• Ability to interpret electrical drawings
• Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
• Knowledge of AutoCAD
