Deputy General Manager Electrical

About the role

Dangote Industries Limited is looking for a Deputy General Manager Electrical for its Gboko plant. The role plans, organises, monitors and coordinates the electrical distribution system, electrical and instrumentation maintenance and services so that plant availability is maximised at optimum cost and power consumption reduced. It also gives critical direction to the sectional (operations) manager on equipment availability.

Key responsibilities

• Run day-to-day maintenance of all electrical equipment, from crusher to packing plant, including the power plant, to keep operations trouble-free.
• Maintain adequate critical spares and run preventive and predictive maintenance to ensure equipment availability.
• Share energy conservation best practices across departments and implement them.
• Monitor stores inventory and consumption regularly, and carry out regular health checks of critical equipment with the department and MIPS.
• Ensure uninterrupted power distribution meets plant needs and coordinate with NEPA/JOS authorities on grid power use.
• Organise regular in-house safety and operation-and-maintenance training.
• Prepare daily power reports and monitor them sustainably.
• Supervise technical staff, enforce accident prevention and occupational health procedures, and ensure equipment complies with DCP and local safety regulations.
• Make SOPs, OPLs, GTFs and Do's and Don'ts, run RCA and Why-Why analysis training, develop model areas and equipment, and solve electrical problems to improve reliability.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 25 years of post-qualification experience.
• Knowledge of cement products and cement manufacturing processes.
• Good oral and written communication, teamwork, innovation and creativity.

Required skills

• Predictive inspection tools and CMMS.
• SAP modules such as MM and PM.
• Electrical engineering and industrial automation.
• Safety legislation, ISO 9000 and TPM.
