Cyclotron Manager

About the role

The Cyclotron Manager will lead the strategic direction and daily operation of AMCE’s medical cyclotron facility, ensuring safe, reliable and efficient production of medical isotopes for diagnostic imaging. The role combines operational oversight, maintenance management, radiation safety compliance and team leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule and supervise daily cyclotron operations to meet clinical, commercial and research demands.
• Maintain and optimise the IBA Cyclone KUIBE 18 MeV cyclotron, hot cells, targetry and synthesis modules.
• Develop and execute preventive and corrective maintenance programmes, coordinating with OEMs and vendors.
• Ensure all production activities comply with cGMP, ISO and Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority regulations.
• Lead a team of technicians and engineers, conduct performance reviews and deliver training on operational and radiation‑safety procedures.
• Prepare regulatory reports, production summaries and manage audit readiness.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, radiography or nuclear medicine technology (Master’s preferred).
• 5‑7 years of progressive cyclotron experience, including 2‑3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Professional certification in cyclotron operations, radiation safety or nuclear medicine technology is highly desirable.
• Proven experience with OEM cyclotron systems (e.g., IBA, GE, Siemens) and quality management systems.
