Credit Reviewer (Credit Analyst)

About the role

Voedsel Capital is hiring a Credit Reviewer (also called Credit Analyst) in Portharcourt, Rivers State. The role assesses, analyses and validates loan requests so they comply with the company's credit policies and risk standards, ensuring only quality applications are recommended for approval.

Key responsibilities

• Review all loan applications for completeness and compliance with credit policy.
• Analyse borrower financials, cash flow, bank statements and other supporting documents.
• Verify the accuracy and authenticity of documents such as offer letters, affidavits, valuation and inspection reports, and vehicle papers (VIN, engine number, registration).
• Evaluate collateral value, authenticity and adequacy.
• Ensure all reviews follow internal policies, regulatory standards and industry best practice.
• Prepare credit review reports for management and approval committees.
• Work with Credit Relationship Officers, compliance and risk officers to balance growth with prudent risk management.

Required profile

• HND or B.Sc. in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field.
• 2-3 years of experience in credit analysis, underwriting or loan review; financial sector experience preferred.
• Knowledge of KYC, risk management and collateral assessment.
• High ethical standards and sound judgment in credit decisions.
