Credit Officer – Loan & Asset Financing

About the role

DAG Industries Nigeria Limited is seeking a detail‑oriented Credit Officer to manage loan and asset financing operations across multiple locations in Lagos. The role involves evaluating credit applications, structuring loan facilities, and ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate loan and asset financing applications from individuals, SMEs, and corporate clients.
• Conduct credit analysis, reviewing financial statements, cash flow, repayment capacity, and credit history.
• Assess asset value, ownership, and suitability as collateral.
• Verify documentation for KYC and AML compliance.
• Prepare credit appraisal reports and recommend approval, decline, or modification.
• Structure loan facilities in line with company policies.
• Collaborate with sales, operations, legal, and recovery teams throughout the loan lifecycle.
• Monitor loan portfolio performance and identify early warning signs of default.
• Conduct periodic reviews and recommend restructuring when needed.
• Ensure proper security documentation and collateral registration.
• Maintain accurate credit files for audit and regulatory purposes.
• Support disbursement processes by confirming pre‑disbursement conditions.
• Prepare portfolio, risk analysis, and management information reports.
• Work with recovery team to manage delinquent accounts and minimize non‑performing loans.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Banking, Business Administration or related field.
• 3–6 years of proven experience in credit analysis, loan underwriting, or asset financing.
• Experience in financial institutions, fintech, micro‑finance, commercial banks, leasing or auto‑finance companies.
