Crane Maintenance Supervisor

About the role

The Crane Maintenance Supervisor will lead the maintenance and repair of SANY and other Chinese‑manufactured cranes as well as forklift fleets at our Port Harcourt facilities. You will ensure equipment reliability, compliance with OEM standards, and adherence to HSE regulations while managing a team of mechanics and technicians.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic faults on cranes and forklifts.
• Investigate equipment failures, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Supervise, mentor, and coordinate mechanics and technicians to deliver quality workmanship.
• Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for crane and forklift fleets.
• Monitor fleet performance, downtime, and maintenance costs, recommending continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, service reports, and equipment history.
• Liaise with Operations, Procurement, and Management to secure spare parts and technical support.
• Ensure strict compliance with HSE regulations, company procedures, and industry best practices.

Required profile

• HND in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 4 years of crane maintenance experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Hands‑on experience with SANY and other major Chinese crane brands (truck‑mounted, all‑terrain, rough terrain, crawler, etc.).
• Proven ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine‑related faults.
• Strong leadership, communication, and report‑writing skills.
• Valid driver’s licence (advantageous).
