Commis III – Kitchen Assistant (Full-time)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Commis III to join the kitchen team at Sheraton Lagos Hotel. The role involves supporting chefs in preparing and cooking a wide range of dishes while maintaining high standards of quality, hygiene and presentation in a fast‑paced hotel environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients – portion, chop, wash, peel, weigh, measure and mix according to recipes.
• Cook and assemble hot and cold dishes, following quality and presentation standards.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers safely and efficiently.
• Monitor food temperatures, test doneness and ensure compliance with food safety guidelines.
• Set up and break down work stations, clean and disinfect kitchen areas, tools and equipment.
• Serve food in proper portions and maintain a tidy service area.
• Follow all company safety, security and hygiene policies and report any issues promptly.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hotel or restaurant kitchen.
• Ability to stand, walk and lift objects up to 25 lb and perform repetitive motions.
• Professional appearance and strong teamwork attitude.
