Commercial & Marketing Director – GVA Nigeria

About the role

The Commercial & Marketing Director will lead Group Vivendi Africa’s (GVA) commercial and marketing agenda for Nigeria and the wider English‑speaking African market. Reporting to senior leadership, the role drives launch activities, builds high‑performing sales and marketing teams, and ensures the brand’s positioning and revenue targets are met.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute GVA’s commercial and marketing strategy across English‑speaking Africa, translating the Group master plan into actionable road‑maps for subsidiaries.
• Recruit, structure and develop B2C and B2B commercial and marketing teams, establishing front‑ and back‑office processes, tools and sales methodologies.
• Design, establish and scale multi‑channel distribution networks, including physical, digital, mobile‑money and alternative payment platforms.
• Identify, negotiate and manage partnerships and commission structures with distributors and commercial partners.
• Set revenue targets, KPIs and performance objectives; monitor results through dashboards and regular reviews.
• Lead sales acceleration initiatives, pre‑sales support, and chair commercial committees and business reviews.
• Contribute to brand positioning and go‑to‑market strategies in collaboration with Group Marketing.

Required profile

• Proven experience in defining and implementing commercial and marketing strategies during launch and growth phases.
• Demonstrated ability to recruit, train and lead B2C and B2B sales and marketing teams.
• Strong knowledge of multi‑channel distribution models, partnership negotiation and channel management.
• Analytical mindset with experience setting KPIs, monitoring performance and driving revenue growth.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills across IT, Finance, Operations and Customer Experience functions.
