Collection Specialist

About the role

The Collection Specialist will engage directly with customers to secure overdue payments and recover outstanding debts. You will work in a fast‑paced environment, negotiating repayment plans while maintaining accurate records.

Key responsibilities

• Contact customers via calls, SMS, WhatsApp, and email regarding due and overdue payments.
• Follow up consistently to obtain payment commitments and recover debts.
• Negotiate suitable repayment plans, settlements, and restructuring options within approved guidelines.
• Review loan information, payment history, and account records to determine collection strategies.
• Maintain up‑to‑date records of interactions, commitments, payments, and account status.
• Handle customer concerns professionally and provide appropriate repayment solutions.
• Meet and work towards assigned collection and recovery targets.
• Escalate unresolved or high‑risk accounts as needed.

Required profile

• HND in finance, business administration, economics or related field.
• 1–3 years experience in debt collection, customer service, FinTech, banking, micro‑finance or financial services (advantageous).
• Completed NYSC.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
• Target‑driven, resilient and results‑oriented.
• Good computer literacy and ability to work with digital systems.

What we offer

• Monthly net salary between NGN 150,000 and NGN 250,000.
• Performance bonus exceeding NGN 600,000.
