Chief Technology Officer (CTO) – Telecom & Broadband

About the role

The Chief Technology Officer will provide strategic leadership and technical direction for a telecommunications, broadband infrastructure and ISP operation. Reporting to the CEO, the CTO will drive the planning, deployment, optimisation and expansion of fibre‑optic, wireless broadband, IP backbone and carrier‑grade networks while ensuring scalability, reliability and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the organisation’s telecom and broadband technology strategy aligned with growth objectives.
• Oversee architecture, deployment and maintenance of fibre‑optic, wireless broadband, IP/MPLS, GPON, routing, switching and microwave radio infrastructure.
• Lead the Network Operations Centre, monitor bandwidth utilisation, latency, uptime and enforce service level agreements.
• Manage upstream providers, carrier partnerships, peering relationships and enterprise connectivity vendors.
• Implement telecom cybersecurity frameworks, disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
• Ensure compliance with Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) regulations and industry standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 14 years of experience in telecom technology leadership.
• Proven track record in ISP operations, broadband infrastructure deployment and enterprise connectivity.
• Executive‑level experience managing large technical teams and budgets.
• Strong understanding of regulatory environments and compliance requirements.
