Chief Financial Officer

About the role

The CFO is the single finance leader for the CST and CSV portfolios, responsible for the integrity of financial reporting, regulatory compliance and capital discipline across all entities. The role bridges entity operations with Group finance architecture and supports the two Group CEOs in strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Lead embedded Financial Controllers and Business Partners, set objectives, manage performance and develop succession plans.
• Own accuracy and timeliness of management and statutory accounts, ensuring IFRS and local GAAP compliance.
• Run a standardized month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close calendar, targeting a five‑day management close.
• Ensure complete and on‑time regulatory returns for all licences (CBN, FCA, FINTRAC, VARA, etc.) and monitor capital adequacy and liquidity ratios.
• Coordinate cash positions, liquidity planning and FX risk management with Group Treasury.

Required profile

• Chartered accountant qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA, ICAN or equivalent) – essential.
• 15+ years of finance experience, including at least 5 years as CFO, Finance Director or Head of Finance in a regulated financial‑services group.
• Hands‑on experience with microfinance, commercial banking, payments or remittance businesses.
• Proven record of regulatory reporting to CBN and exposure to FCA, FINTRAC/FinCEN or VARA regimes.

Required skills

• Strong technical accounting knowledge of IFRS 9, IFRS 15, IFRS 10 and IFRS 16.
• Experience with ERP systems, core banking platforms and ledger automation.
• Multi‑entity, multi‑currency consolidation under IFRS.
• Regulatory and prudential judgement on capital, liquidity and safeguarding.
