Chief Executive Officer – Renewable Energy (Africa)

About the role

The Chief Executive Officer will lead a fast‑growing renewable‑energy company that delivers modular solar solutions across Africa. Reporting to the Board and working closely with investors, the CEO is responsible for restoring commercial momentum, stabilising operations, and scaling the business throughout the continent.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute commercial strategies to drive revenue growth and market expansion across African markets.
• Restore commercial predictability and improve financial and operational performance against plan.
• Strengthen organisational structure, processes, and operating discipline to support scaling and execution.
• Partner with the CFO and SVP Sales to enhance commercial discipline, forecasting reliability, and accountability.
• Lead M&A, capital‑raising, and investment initiatives for geographic and product expansion.
• Champion digital platform optimisation and technology‑driven customer solutions.
• Work with the Board to shape long‑term strategic direction and market positioning.
• Build, mentor, and retain a high‑performing executive team and foster a culture of integrity, innovation, and customer‑centricity.
• Maintain strong engagement with the Board, investors, regulators, and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• 12–15 years of progressive commercial and operational leadership experience, including 5–7 years in a CEO or equivalent role.
• Proven track record scaling operations in Nigeria or other emerging African markets.
• Experience in high‑growth, operationally demanding sectors such as energy access, infrastructure, telecom, or distributed systems.
• Demonstrated ability to manage commercial underperformance or operational turnarounds.
• Strong experience working with institutional investors and Board structures.
• Deep knowledge of the Nigerian market, regulatory landscape, and business environment.
