Cementing Service Operator I

About the role

Halliburton is hiring a Cementing Service Operator I in Port Harcourt, Nigeria, within its Operations product service line. The role involves setting up and taking down cementing equipment on rigs under direct supervision, performing pre-job calculations and training operator assistants. It is an experienced hire.

Key responsibilities

• Rig up and rig down cementing service equipment, including spotting cement storage vessels, pre-mixing spacer fluids, identifying additives to mix on the fly, rigging data monitoring equipment and planning emergency backup equipment.
• Perform pre-job calculations on pipe capacities, plug landing pressures, absolute volumes, hydrostatic and differential pressures, balanced plugs, bulk cement blending, weighted spacers and pressure to reverse.
• Complete documents, reports and forms related to the cementing service.
• Train operator assistants on pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, paperwork and the use of cement pumping and mixing equipment, blenders, liquid additive metering systems, centrifugal pumps, data acquisition systems, ADC systems, bulk cement blending, delivery and storage systems, manifold equipment and plug releasing tools.
• Demonstrate basic knowledge of cementing blends, spacer fluid systems, sodium silicate fluid systems, loss circulation additives, casing attachments, float equipment, multiple stage cementing tools and squeeze packers, and understand basic lab test data such as pump time, density, yield and water ratio.
• Ensure compliance with HSE regulations, promote safety and environmental awareness and take part in quality improvement.

Required profile

• High school or equivalent education and at least 6 months of experience as an Operator Assistant - Cementing, II.
• Licensure to drive commercial equipment may be required; I-Learn courses on general hydraulics for downhole tools and essential preventative maintenance may be required.
• Ability to communicate effectively and a passing score on job-related tests or meeting task guidelines.
