Deck Crew - Offshore Rigging and Lifting Support

About the role

VURIN Ltd., an oil and gas organisation, is hiring a Deck Crew member for onsite/offshore work. The crew supports lifting and maintenance work on deck, including rigging inspections, acting as banksman and keeping the work area clean and safe.

Key responsibilities

• Rigging and lifting support: select and inspect slings, shackles and rigging; act as banksman/signal person; control tag lines and barriers.
• Prepare laydown areas for parts, tools and equipment and handle parts and tools to and from supply vessels.
• Keep the work area clean, tidy and safe, and comply with client and VURIN HSE policies and life-saving rules.
• Work under the Permit to Work system and approved lifting procedures, taking part in toolbox talks, job hazard analysis and pre-lift meetings.
• Stop lifting if rigging, barriers or controls are unsafe, and report unsafe acts, conditions, near misses and incidents.
• Coordinate with crane operators, technicians and the crane foreman, and report damaged rigging for quarantine and replacement.

Required profile

• SSCE/Trade Test (minimum).
• Certified rigger/banksman (OPITO, LEEA or client-approved rigging certification).
• Valid BOSIET/OSP certificate for offshore assignments.
• Minimum 3 years in offshore deck and rigging operations.
• Hands-on experience as banksman/signal person and handling cargo to and from supply vessels.
