Business Manager

About the role

The Business Manager will support the Project Director in managing land documentation, project development, construction approvals, commissioning, operational readiness and handover for projects based in Ogun State, Nigeria. The role requires strong judgment, practical problem‑solving and the ability to turn stakeholder engagement into measurable outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute approval plans, identifying requirements, authorities, fees and timelines while maintaining an actionable tracker.
• Engage with federal, state and local authorities, regulators, utilities and other stakeholders to resolve cross‑departmental issues.
• Analyse delays, disputes and site issues, propose solutions, assess cost and time impacts and escalate when necessary.
• Accelerate execution through early engagement, parallel preparation, coordinated reviews and phased approvals.
• Oversee external consultants, manage scope, progress, deliverables and payments, and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate with engineering, design, factory and local teams, translate regulatory requirements into actions and submit weekly reports.
• Verify official fees, control expenditures within delegated authority and retain key records.

Required profile

• BSc/MSc in Business Administration, Engineering, Project Management or related discipline.
• Strong communication and analytical abilities.
• Interpersonal skills and experience dealing with regulatory agencies in Ogun, Lagos, Abuja and Kano.
