Business Development Officer

About the role

Jd Marc is hiring a full-time Business Development Officer based in Abuja, Nigeria. The role focuses on identifying new business opportunities, contracts and strategic partnerships, and building relationships with corporate clients, government agencies and key stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Identify new business opportunities, contracts and strategic partnerships.
• Monitor tender notices, procurement portals and other contract opportunities.
• Research market trends, competitors and prospective clients.
• Prepare business proposals, presentations and client acquisition strategies.
• Build and maintain relationships with corporate clients, government agencies and key stakeholders.
• Maintain a structured system for tracking leads, tenders, proposals and contract outcomes.
• Prepare regular reports on business development activity and progress for management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Management, Economics or a related field.
• Minimum of 4-5 years of relevant experience in business development, sales or corporate partnerships.
• Experience in construction, engineering, infrastructure or contracting is an advantage.
• Proven ability to identify business opportunities and develop client relationships.
• Ideal candidate is proactive, commercially aware and results-driven.

Required skills

• Strong communication, negotiation, research and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and business reporting.
• Strong organisational skills, initiative and ability to work independently and meet targets.
