Business Development Officer

About the role

The Business Development Officer will drive growth by identifying new business opportunities and building strong relationships with corporate clients. You will work closely with the training and consulting teams to deliver tailored solutions and achieve revenue targets.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the education and training sector.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key decision‑makers and corporate clients.
• Generate qualified leads through networking, referrals, cold outreach and strategic partnerships.
• Conduct client meetings, presentations and business pitches.
• Negotiate contracts, close training and consulting deals and manage the full sales pipeline.
• Provide excellent client service before, during and after programme delivery.
• Upsell and cross‑sell relevant training and consulting services.
• Prepare proposals, quotations and corporate presentations.
• Collaborate with facilitators to design customized client solutions.
• Monitor industry trends, competitor activity and market opportunities.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date prospect and client database and update the CRM system.
• Represent the company at conferences, exhibitions and networking events.
• Prepare weekly and monthly business development reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Management, Human Resources or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in business development, sales, corporate marketing or consulting.
• Experience in training, education, consulting or professional services is an advantage.
• Proven track record of achieving sales and revenue targets.
