About the role

Reliance Health is looking for a Backend Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain the backend services and APIs that power our healthcare platform. You will work in a remote‑first environment, collaborating with product, frontend, DevOps, and QA teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure systems.

Key responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using TypeScript, Node.js, and Express.
Implement robust, scalable, and secure database solutions with MySQL and Sequelize ORM.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather requirements, define scope, and deliver solutions.
Optimize backend services for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
Troubleshoot and resolve production issues together with DevOps and support teams.
Ensure high code quality through automated testing, peer reviews, and CI/CD best practices.
Contribute to technical documentation for APIs, services, and data models.
Participate in architectural discussions and propose improvements.

Required profile

Strong experience with TypeScript, Node.js, and Express.
Solid understanding of REST API design principles.
Proficiency with MySQL and ORM frameworks, preferably Sequelize.
Experience with asynchronous programming, error handling, and performance optimization in Node.js.
Familiarity with containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes, or Nomad).
Experience with Git‑based workflows (GitHub, GitLab, or similar).
