Backend Engineer – Server‑Side Development

About the role

Payzeep is looking for a Backend Engineer to design, build, and maintain the server‑side components of its financial services platform. You will work on scalable, secure systems that support payment processing and collection across multiple channels.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with front‑end engineers, product managers and designers to translate requirements into robust backend solutions.
• Develop high‑performance server code using Node.js, Nest.js, Go and Spring Boot.
• Design, implement and optimise database schemas in MongoDB and PostgreSQL.
• Deploy, monitor and manage infrastructure on AWS, ensuring scalability and reliability.
• Write clean, modular, test‑driven code and conduct thorough testing and debugging.
• Implement security measures such as authentication and authorization.
• Monitor performance, resolve bottlenecks and apply caching strategies.
• Maintain documentation, participate in code reviews and support existing services.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience building scalable backend applications.
• Strong understanding of database design and optimisation.
• Familiarity with cloud services, particularly AWS.
• Ability to work collaboratively in cross‑functional teams.
