Head of Engineering and Technical Services

About the role

The Head of Engineering & Technical Services will lead all engineering and technical functions, ensuring reliable, scalable and secure technology infrastructure for multimedia content delivery across platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain robust network, server (on‑premise and cloud) and storage solutions with high availability.
• Oversee the content delivery network (CDN), encoding, transcoding, packaging and metadata workflows to guarantee optimal viewing/listening experience.
• Implement proactive monitoring, alerting and change‑management processes to prevent service disruptions.
• Develop and enforce cybersecurity policies, conduct regular security assessments and penetration testing, and manage data backup, disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
• Lead the IT service desk, define SLAs, and maintain a knowledge base for efficient technical support.
• Define a long‑term technology roadmap, evaluate emerging technologies (cloud, AI, advanced CDN) and align them with business strategy.
• Build and mentor a high‑performing engineering team, address skill gaps and promote a culture of innovation.
• Manage the department budget, procure equipment and software, and report financial performance to executive leadership.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in engineering or technical services within a media or digital content environment.
• Strong strategic thinking, ability to translate business goals into technical solutions, and excellent stakeholder communication.
