Backend Engineer – Build Scalable Financial Services

About the role

Kuda Bank is seeking a result‑driven Backend Engineer to enhance and maintain its financial services platform. You will work on improving existing backend applications, ensuring high performance and reliability for users across Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Focus on coding, debugging, and building high‑quality reusable code.
• Develop functional, sustainable web applications with clean code.
• Troubleshoot and debug applications, conduct tests, and optimise performance.
• Collaborate with engineers building client‑facing applications to integrate UI elements with server‑side logic.
• Implement modern technologies to modernise legacy systems.
• Collect, analyse, and address technical and design requirements.
• Create reusable code libraries for future use.
• Train and support internal teams.
• Interact with developers, designers, and system administrators to identify new features.
• Stay informed about emerging technologies.

Required profile

• Experience improving and troubleshooting backend applications.
• Ability to analyse code, devise efficient processes, and enhance user experience.
