Backend Developer (NestJS, TypeScript)

About the role

CredPal, a financial technology company offering credit cards and investment solutions, is looking for a mid-to-senior level Backend Developer to join its engineering team in Lagos. You will build and maintain the server-side logic and APIs behind the company's web and mobile apps, working closely with frontend developers and the product team. The role is full time and hybrid, and uses AI-powered coding tools to improve efficiency and code quality.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain server-side logic with NestJS, TypeScript, NoSQL, RDBMS and other backend technologies.
• Design and implement scalable RESTful APIs for data exchange between frontend and backend.
• Use AI coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT and Tabnine to write cleaner, more efficient code.
• Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
• Implement security measures and protect data, and optimize applications for speed and scalability.
• Write clean, maintainable code and run unit and integration tests.
• Keep up with industry trends, provide technical documentation and training, and take part in code reviews.

Required profile

• High proficiency in NestJS, MongoDB/Mongoose and TypeScript, preferably in a fintech or high-growth financial service company.
• Experience with AI-powered coding tools and strong SQL (MySQL) knowledge.
• Responsive design principles, frontend build tools, RESTful API development, Git, Agile and ability to turn business needs into technical requirements.
• Good communication with non-technical stakeholders and experience in cross-functional teams; immediate availability.
