Backend Developer

About the role

A company is looking for a Backend Developer to join its development team and help build robust, scalable and efficient backend systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop and deploy backend solutions that power the company's web and mobile applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend systems and APIs supporting web and mobile applications
• Work with front-end developers, product managers and other stakeholders to turn requirements into technical solutions
• Write clean, efficient and maintainable code following best practices and coding standards
• Optimise backend performance and scalability under high load and traffic
• Apply security best practices to protect sensitive data
• Run code reviews, testing and debugging to ensure reliability and stability
• Keep up with emerging technologies and improve backend architecture and processes
• Take part in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups and retrospectives

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Backend Developer or similar role, with a strong portfolio of technical projects
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, focused on scalable solutions
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to work independently and in a team

Required skills

• Backend languages such as Python, Java, Node.js or Ruby on Rails
• Frameworks such as Django, Flask, Spring Boot, Express.js or Ruby on Rails
• SQL and NoSQL databases, including design, optimisation and query tuning
• RESTful APIs, microservices architecture and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platform
