Associate - Corporate & Commercial Law

About the role

A leading law firm in Nigeria, recruited through eRecruiter, is hiring an Associate in corporate and commercial law. The Associate supports the firm's practices by drafting, reviewing and negotiating legal documents, conducting due diligence and advising clients on corporate and regulatory matters. The ideal candidate has a strong interest in technology and innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate contracts, agreements and other transactional documents.
• Conduct due diligence on client transactions and investment opportunities and identify potential legal risks.
• Advise on corporate transactions, including corporate governance, intellectual property, data protection and regulatory compliance.
• Author articles on legal developments and contribute to the firm's thought leadership.
• Stay up to date on industry trends and legal developments, and collaborate with colleagues to deliver innovative legal solutions aligned with client goals.

Required profile

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant legal experience in a corporate/commercial law firm.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage client relationships.
• Passion for the technology ecosystem, with a keen interest in innovation and entrepreneurship.
• Ability to work independently and in a team while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

Required skills

• Excellent drafting, reviewing and negotiation skills with high attention to detail.
• Proficiency in legal research and clear communication of complex legal concepts.
