Area Sales Manager

About the role

The Area Sales Manager will lead revenue growth and market penetration for the Diagnostics Business Unit across the assigned territory in Nigeria. Reporting to senior leadership, you will be responsible for achieving sales targets, building strong client relationships, and driving customer acquisition and retention.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve assigned sales and revenue targets within the territory.
• Develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective clients.
• Identify, pursue and convert sales opportunities to expand market share.
• Manage sales leads, inquiries and follow‑up activities.
• Build value‑based partnerships with customer centers and key stakeholders.
• Execute effective territory coverage, account management and customer engagement strategies.
• Provide accurate sales forecasting, pipeline management and periodic reports.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities and customer needs to inform business strategy.
• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and support continuous growth.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Pharmacy, Life Sciences or related field (MBA preferred).
• Second Class Upper or Upper Credit.
• 5–7 years of progressive sales and business development experience, with 2–3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Experience in healthcare, medical diagnostics, pharmaceutical or related industry is an advantage.
• Proven record of exceeding sales targets.
• Strong leadership, people management and coaching abilities.
• Excellent analytical, strategic thinking and communication skills.
