Area Manager

About the role

The Area Manager will lead and coordinate the activities of branch managers and field teams across Abeokuta and the wider Ogun State region. Reporting to senior management, the role focuses on driving loan portfolio growth, savings mobilization, and ensuring compliance with credit and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate branch managers and field staff within the assigned area.
• Drive loan portfolio expansion and savings mobilization across all branches.
• Monitor branch performance, ensuring achievement of business targets.
• Ensure compliance with credit policies, operational procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Track loan repayment performance and implement strategies to reduce Portfolio at Risk (PAR).
• Conduct regular branch visits, audits, and performance reviews.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and support to branch personnel.
• Investigate operational issues, fraud, and policy violations as needed.
• Prepare and submit periodic performance and risk reports to management.
• Identify new business opportunities and support market expansion initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum HND in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Banking or related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in a Microfinance Institution, with minimum 1 year in a supervisory or management role.
• Strong knowledge of micro‑finance operations, credit administration, and risk management.
• Proven ability to manage teams and achieve business targets.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
