Area Business Manager – Kumbotso, Kano State

About the role

The Area Business Manager will lead sales, collections and distribution for Sun King’s EasyBuy solar products in Kumbotso, Kano State. Reporting to the Regional Business Manager, you will be responsible for building a high‑performing team of Energy Officers and ensuring rapid, sustainable growth of the direct distribution network.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, train and retain at least 40 Energy Officers using local influencers such as village heads, teachers and religious leaders.
• Provide comprehensive training on sales, collections, product knowledge, technical aspects, inventory and logistics.
• Define clear daily tasks, routes and targets for Energy Officers and ensure they have the tools to demonstrate and sell products.
• Conduct weekly touch‑points with each Energy Officer through in‑person visits, calls or joint sales activities.
• Assist Energy Officers with their first five sales to guarantee proper sales and collection processes.
• Organise joint field work, night activations and market events to drive group sales and community engagement.
• Report field issues and performance metrics to the Regional Business Manager on a weekly basis.

Required profile

• Proven ability to hire, train and manage a large field sales team.
• Strong understanding of direct sales, collections and distribution operations.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships with community influencers and customers.
• Demonstrated integrity, ethics and professionalism in customer interactions.
