Application Security Engineer

About the role

Moniepoint Inc. is looking for an experienced Application Security Engineer to protect its digital assets. You will work closely with development teams to embed security throughout the software lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct manual and automated security assessments of web and mobile applications.
• Design and implement security controls and architecture to protect sensitive data.
• Perform penetration testing and produce detailed remediation reports.
• Participate in incident response for application‑related security events.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and deliver secure‑coding training for development teams.
• Manage and configure security monitoring tools and stay current with emerging threats.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security or related field.
• Proven experience in application security or a similar role.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with security testing tools and methodologies (SAST, DAST, penetration testing tools).
• Knowledge of secure coding practices and application security frameworks.
• Understanding of web application architecture and cloud environments.
• Familiarity with industry standards such as OWASP Top 10.
• Relevant certifications (OSCP, CEH, LPT, GPEN, CISSP) are a plus.
