Accounts Analyst

About the role

A leading boutique interior design firm specialising in high-end commercial and hospitality projects is looking for an Accounts Analyst through its recruiter partner. The role covers postings, bookkeeping, collection and tracking of financial data, financial audits, bank statement reconciliation and keeping financial records accurate.

Key responsibilities

• Implement accounting standards and policies to ensure financial compliance and efficiency.
• Provide weekly quantitative snapshots of the business's financial position, liquidity and cash flows.
• Manage the full accounting workflow from invoicing to reporting, including accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations and accurate transaction records.
• Prepare budgets and carry out monthly variance analysis.
• Prepare and interpret monthly, quarterly and annual management reports for stakeholders.
• Compute, file and remit taxes and other financial obligations in line with federal and state regulations.
• Scrutinise source documents for bills and purchases so every expenditure has a backup document and clear paper trail.
• Audit financial transactions periodically and stay audit-ready.
• Keep the accounting software accurate and error-free, and adapt to new processes that improve efficiency.
• Identify ways to manage costs and improve profitability.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting or Finance.
• ICAN/ACCA membership is compulsory.
• Very experienced in bookkeeping, with a minimum of 3 years in an accounting role, preferably in design, architecture, manufacturing or construction.
• Current in the accounting community and thorough knowledge of state and federal tax and accounting laws.

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with QuickBooks, Zoho and Sage.
• Advanced MS Excel, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables.
• Excellent attention to detail, mathematical and critical thinking skills, and strong report writing and data analysis skills.
