Accountant – Real Estate & Finance (Lagos)

About the role

DreamCity Group is seeking a highly competent Accountant to support its growing portfolio of real estate, construction, fintech, micro‑finance and hospitality businesses. The role is based in Lagos and reports to the Director of Finance/Accounts.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records for all subsidiaries and ensure statutory filing.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements, including inter‑company reconciliations and eliminations.
• Ensure compliance with industry‑specific regulations such as project cost tracking, REIT fund management, micro‑finance prudential guidelines, fintech payment reconciliation and hospitality revenue accounting.
• Assist in annual budgeting, periodic forecasting and variance analysis for each business unit.
• Compute, file and remit all applicable taxes (CIT, VAT, WHT, PAYE) in line with FIRS and state requirements.
• Oversee vendor payments, contractor milestone payments and customer/tenant/investor receipts.
• Reconcile multiple bank accounts daily, monitor cash flow and prepare cash position reports.
• Generate financial reports (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) with insights on profitability and cost drivers.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors, providing schedules and explanations.
• Review and strengthen internal controls and recommend improvements.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience in at least two of the following sectors: real estate development, construction, REIT investment, fintech, micro‑finance banking, hospitality.
• Strong technical accounting skills and relevant professional certification.
• Proven ability to handle multi‑entity financial reporting, regulatory compliance and performance analysis.
