Accountant – Manufacturing Cost & Financial Reporting

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our manufacturing finance team in Nigeria. The role focuses on managing financial records, performing cost accounting, and delivering accurate financial reports that support production efficiency and profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and maintain financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries specific to manufacturing processes.
• Perform cost accounting activities such as inventory valuation, variance analysis, and overhead allocation.
• Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports detailing the manufacturing department's performance and profitability.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to analyze production costs and identify opportunities for cost optimisation.
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities related to manufacturing operations.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies.
• Assist in audits and provide necessary documentation and explanations for financial statements.

Required profile

• HND or BSc in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as an accountant.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and practices.
• Ability to analyse complex data and generate actionable insights.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for cross‑department collaboration.

Required skills

• Proficiency in accounting software.
• Advanced MS Excel skills.
