Accountant

About the role

The Fresh place is hiring an Accountant in Lagos (Marina) to manage all aspects of its financial transactions, from daily bookkeeping to preparing and analysing financial statements. The role also covers regulatory compliance, budgeting, internal audit and stock control.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily bookkeeping and enter accurate information from source documents into assigned accounts
• Prepare and file financial reports and stay up to date with financial regulations
• Work with management to develop budgets, monitor spending and provide financial analysis
• Conduct internal audits and strengthen internal controls
• Carry out monthly stock valuations, stock takes, stock reconciliations and collate stock reports
• Partner with cross-functional teams to share financial insights

Required profile

• B.Sc in accounting or finance; other qualifications are an advantage
• 2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the food industry
• Must live within the Lekki - Ajah axis

Required skills

• Strong analytical skills
• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks and Zoho
• Excellent written and verbal communication
