Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a diligent Accountant to join our team in Ibadan, supporting the financial operations of our shipping and logistics business. The role involves maintaining accurate records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with tax and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records and accounting documentation.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Reconcile bank statements and company accounts.
• Monitor fuel expenses, vehicle maintenance costs, and other haulage‑related expenditures.
• Process payroll and statutory deductions.
• Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with Nigerian tax laws.
• Track fleet‑related costs and profitability by vehicle, route, or customer.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cash‑flow management.
• Conduct periodic audits of financial transactions and records.
• Support management with financial analysis and recommendations.
• Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and financial institutions.

Required profile

• Minimum HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in transportation, logistics, or haulage operations.
• Strong understanding of Nigerian tax laws and financial regulations.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
