Accountant II – Treasury Payments (Ibadan)

About the role

The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) seeks an Accountant II to manage foreign payments and treasury support for its operations in Ibadan, Oyo. The role focuses on processing international transactions, reconciling accounts, and ensuring accurate financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Process payments to foreign banks using Oracle Accounts Payable (AP) modules.
• Initiate fund transfers through various international banking platforms.
• Respond to enquiries related to foreign fund transfers and payment transactions.
• Provide backup for the Assistant Treasury Manager and Cashier as needed.
• Reconcile overseas creditor/supplier AP balances.
• Maintain and reconcile pre‑payment schedules across stations and headquarters.
• Prepare imprest reimbursements for IITA stations, including IITA Limited.
• Reconcile clearing accounts and ensure accurate recognition of bank charges.

Required profile

• B.Sc or HND in Finance and Accounting (or related field) with at least three years of relevant experience.
• ACA or ACCA qualification is an added advantage.
• Strong attention to detail, high accuracy, and ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
