About the role
Monievend is looking for a detail‑oriented Accountant to manage day‑to‑day financial operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide accurate financial reporting to support strategic decisions. This position is essential for maintaining financial integrity as the company continues to scale.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and journals; record all income, expenses, and transactions promptly.
- Reconcile bank statements, resolve discrepancies, and ensure proper documentation of expenses.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports; support budgeting, forecasting, and cash‑flow management.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies; file statutory returns such as PAYE, VAT, and WHT.
- Assist with payroll processing, statutory deductions, and audit preparation.
- Maintain confidentiality, file records on approved systems, and contribute to process improvements.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA) or in progress is an advantage.
- 2–4 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably in a service‑based or fast‑growing organization.
- Strong ethical standards, high attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
Required skills
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency with accounting software.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
