Accountant / Account Officer (Full‑time)

About the role

Winnyz Catering is seeking a diligent Accountant/Account Officer to join its finance team in Lagos. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting budgeting processes, and ensuring compliance with tax and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain up‑to‑date financial records for all transactions.
• Record daily income, expenses, and bank movements.
• Prepare income statements, balance sheets, and cash‑flow reports.
• Assist in budgeting and financial planning.
• Monitor expenses against approved budgets.
• Analyse data to spot trends, discrepancies and cost‑saving opportunities.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable to sustain healthy cash flow.
• Prepare and file tax returns in line with regulations.
• Support internal and external audits with required documentation.
• Process payroll, including salaries, deductions and statutory remittances.
• Investigate and resolve financial discrepancies.
• Utilise accounting software to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and financial regulations.
• Provide financial insights to aid management decisions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 2–5 years of relevant accounting experience.
• High level of accuracy, integrity and confidentiality.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and organisational skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Required skills

• Proficiency with QuickBooks, SAP or Oracle.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
