300‑ton & 600‑ton Crawler Crane Operator

About the role

Samsung Heavy Industries Nigeria is seeking experienced operators to run its 300‑ton and 600‑ton crawler cranes at the Ladol yard in Lagos. The role involves safe, efficient crane operation supporting large‑scale fabrication and integration projects.

Key responsibilities

• Operate 300‑ton and 600‑ton crawler cranes, including standard boom, fixed jibs, luffing jibs and superlift attachments.
• Assist assembly crews with track installation, counterweight placement and boom pinning, and lead complex crane assembly/disassembly.
• Read and execute engineered lift plans, perform ground bearing pressure calculations and participate in critical lift planning sessions.
• Conduct daily pre‑operational inspections of rigging, wire ropes and mechanical systems, including superlift structural checks.
• Coordinate with signal persons using hand signals and radio, and manage communications during tandem or multi‑crane lifts.

Required profile

• OND, HND or Bachelor’s degree.
• 3 to 7 years of experience operating heavy crawler cranes.

Required skills

• Operation of 300‑ton and 600‑ton crawler cranes.
• Lift planning and execution of engineered lift plans.
• Ground pressure calculations and matting requirements for heavy loads.
