Travel and Tourism Manager

About the role

The Travel and Tourism Manager will craft effective travel and tourism policies and monitor traveling activity and programs. You will be the go‑to person for any relevant matter from booking tickets to reconciling expenses to ensuring travel safety. The role also involves developing and promoting tourism to attract visitors and generate significant economic benefits for the tourist and the company.

Key responsibilities

• Develop strategic policies and programs for travel and tourism.
• Handle and oversee all travel arrangements (air, land, sea, lodgings, etc.) and operations.
• Manage relationships with travel agencies and vendors and negotiate contracts or rates.
• Provide advice on travel documents, insurance, import/export regulations, and handle credit‑card programs.
• Process expense reports, reimbursements and ensure compliance with travel procedures.
• Drive continuous improvement of travel programs, encourage new members and manage annual membership renewal.
• Collate and distribute newsletters and e‑newsletters to members.
• Act as principal contact for enquiries from members and potential members.
• Provide media and public‑relations advice and conduct training workshops.
• Develop initiatives to grow the membership base and generate income from online advertising.
• Participate in sub‑group meetings (Marketing, Websites & Social Media, Finance), contribute initiatives, take minutes and progress actions.
• Manage the Tourism Officer in day‑to‑day finances, membership and advertising revenue, monthly financial reports, year‑end accounts and VAT returns.
• Produce leaflets and various tourism‑related literature, newsletters and e‑newsletters.
• Carry out any other activity that supports the growth of the company.

Required profile

• Strategic thinker able to create travel and tourism policies aligned with company needs.
• Excellent people skills, strong organisational ability and high professionalism.
• Minimum 5 years of proven experience in travel and tourism management.
