Tool Center Electrical Technician

About the role

The Tool Center Electrical Technician ensures that electromechanical tooling and equipment used in turbine generator field operations are tested, troubleshooted, and repaired to maintain high reliability. Working within the Gas Services division, you will support low‑emission power generation by keeping tools and electrical assets in optimal condition.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct incoming inspections of tools and electrical equipment returned from outages or field operations.
• Perform routine electrical maintenance, minor repairs, connections, inspections, testing, and basic calibration.
• Prepare and dispatch electrical tool sets, verifying configurations, packing, labeling, and documentation.
• Store tools, cables, and test devices according to approved layout standards.
• Support painting, labeling, shelving, housekeeping, and general facility upkeep.
• Carry out basic electrical troubleshooting on tools, cables, connectors, panels, and auxiliary components.
• Operate a forklift safely for loading, unloading, and relocating tools and materials, including daily safety inspections.
• Apply lockout/tagout (LOTO) and electrical safety procedures during maintenance activities.
• Comply with Occupational Health & Safety rules, use required PPE, and report unsafe conditions promptly.

Required profile

• National Diploma (ND) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology or related field.
• 3–5 years practical experience as an electrical technician in an industrial workshop, manufacturing, or tool service environment.
• Trade Test Certificate (Grade I, II, or III) in Electrical Installation & Maintenance issued by the Nigerian Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment.
• Intermediate computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, email).
• Ability to work independently with moderate supervision.
