Tool Center Mechanical Technician

About the role

The Tool Center Mechanical Technician ensures that all mechanical tooling and equipment used in turbine generator field operations are functional, safe, and ready for deployment. You will work in a dedicated tool center, supporting both routine maintenance and urgent field needs.

Key responsibilities

• Test, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical tooling and equipment used in turbine generator operations.
• Conduct incoming inspections of tools and equipment returned from outages or field work.
• Perform routine maintenance activities, including minor mechanical repairs, lubrication, adjustments, and basic calibration checks.
• Prepare tool sets for dispatch by verifying tool lists, configuring, packing, labeling, and completing required documentation.
• Store tools, equipment, and materials according to approved layout standards and storage procedures.
• Identify missing items, damages, non‑conformities, or abnormal conditions and report them immediately.
• Support painting, labeling, shelving, housekeeping, and general facility upkeep within the Tool Center.
• Carry out basic mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting within assigned responsibilities.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, manuals, and tool lists accurately.
• Comply fully with Occupational Health & Safety rules, use required PPE, and report unsafe conditions.

Required profile

• Vocational degree or technical certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Maintenance Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Mechanical Technician in an industrial workshop, manufacturing, or tool‑service environment.
• Ability to work independently on difficult but not overly complex technical problems, consistent with an experienced professional level.
