Technical Sales Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Presales Engineer / Technical Sales Engineer to join our Telco team in Nigeria. You will partner with customers to identify opportunities, drive technical success through proof‑of‑concepts, solution demos, and consultative engagement, acting as the technical bridge between sales, product, and engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Build trusted relationships with technical, operational and C‑level stakeholders across key accounts and drive account expansion.
• Conduct discovery workshops, design tailored AI, data analytics and digital‑twin solutions, and deliver live demos for technical and executive audiences.
• Lead high‑impact proof‑of‑concepts in telecommunications, industrial and energy environments, ensuring alignment with customer KPIs.
• Collaborate with sales and delivery teams to draft technical architectures, proposals and responses for RFPs/tenders.
• Support post‑sale growth by providing solution optimisation, data architecture guidance and adoption of new capabilities.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in presales, solution engineering or technical consulting on enterprise AI, data or digital transformation projects.
• Proven background in the telecommunications industry with exposure to RAN planning and related tools.
• Strong ability to translate complex technical solutions into clear business outcomes for C‑suite audiences.
• Agile, problem‑solving mindset comfortable navigating ambiguity across multiple industry verticals.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Data Science; certifications such as AWS/Azure Solution Architect are a plus.

Required skills

• Experience with prototyping tools such as Replit and Miro.
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Understanding of modern data architectures: data lakes, data warehouses, ETL/ELT, streaming, APIs.
• Familiarity with AI/IoT/telemetry and cybersecurity concepts.
• Experience with Databricks is a strong plus.
